Strengthening Disaster Humanitarian Response And Preparedness

Our aim is to improve the humanitarian sector’s ability to respond to humanitarian crises through better learning and accountability.

The delivery of effective and sustainable aid within the fast-changing world continues to present ongoing challenges. In strengthening disaster humanitarian response and preparedness programmes, our vision goes beyond response and humanitarian delivery work.

We believe that an effective response involves the reduction of future disaster risk, and building communitie’s resilience. In our approach we consider the social, cultural and climatic conditions of the affected area, taking into account the work of different actors.

ResilienceMonitor offers evaluation of humanitarian aid programmes, technical assistance and training.  Our approach combines rigorous desk and field research, and participatory methods to identify strengths and areas for improvement. We provide forward-looking and practical recommendations to maximize the effectiveness of aid efforts.

Through our work we support the humanitarian community  and governments to:

Deliver more effective action through supporting the integration of relief, rehabilitation, risk reduction and development objectives

Understand how their programmes contribute to improving the lives of people affected by disasters and conflicts.

Build capacity of stakeholders to improve their design, planning, implementation efforts through a Resilience lens.
